New order for Filtralite for water treatment works in Norway
 maxit as has signed a new contract with the Norwegian water company Vestfold Interkommunale Vannverk (VIV) for delivery of Filtralite for the upgrading of their water treatment works at Seierstad outside the city of Larvik.
VIV installed Filtralite as the top layer in one of their dual media filters as a test already in 2003. Parallel to the full scale test they ran a pilot plant for optimizing the filter performance. The pilot test was carried out in cooperation with maxit as. Both the pilot test and the full scale filter gave results that convinced VIV to choose Filtralite as the top layer for all their dual media filters.
VIV is owned by, and supplies water to, 10 municipalities in the south eastern part of Norway. Their two water works supplies water to about 145 000 persons. The Seierstad Water Treatment Works takes water from the lake Farris and treats it in a process with coagulation, pH adjustment, dual media filters and chlorination.
