For several years the main laboratory at Lillestrøm, Norway has carried out testing of Filtralite filter media. The number of tests and characterisation procedures are continuously increasing, according to the increase in requirements for good quality filter media.
All Filtralite products have been through a serie of standard tests according to European and/or other international test procedures.
The standard tests involve: bulk and particle density, sieve curve, voids, water uptake, permeability, friability and acid loss.
Other tests that also are carried out at our laboratory are: phosphorous uptake, backwash head gradient and bed expansion, filtering head loss and backwash abrasion resistance.
The laboratory is also equipped with a mobile drinking water filtration pilot plant.
