Filtralite® Clean HC 2,5–5 is a filter media made of crushed expanded clay aggregates, suitable for biological treatment in wastewater plants. In some projects, this grade is also known as “biolite” when used in biofiltration applications.
Filtralite Clean MC 2,5-4 is a high-quality filter media, manufactured from expanded clay material, used for tertiary filtration of effluent water.
Filtralite® Clean HR 4–8 is a high-quality filter media, manufactured from expanded clay material and used for biological treatment in wastewater plants. In some projects, this grade is also known as “biolite” when used in biofiltration applications.

Filtralite Clean HR 4-8 is used for olive washing wastewater treatment in a 2 m3 aerobic fixed-bed reactor, prior to two subsequent batch membrane processes: ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF). This process allows to recycle 80% of the washing wastewater for an agriculture use.
Sand and Filtralite MC 2,5-4 filters, used in a final polishing step, brings down the discharge of phosphorus to 0,2 mg P/l with less coagulant.
